These rules apply to every giveaway on events.whatsupsetx.com. Each giveaway's listing names the prize and the date entries close. Where a listing and these rules disagree, these rules win.
No purchase necessary
No purchase or payment of any kind is needed to enter or win. A purchase does not improve your chances.
Who runs it
What's Up SETX runs these giveaways. Questions go to info@whatsupsetx.com. When a business or venue provides the prize, the listing names them as the prize provider.
Who can enter
Legal residents of Texas who are 18 or older when they enter. Where an event has a higher age limit, such as 21 and up, entrants must meet it. Employees of What's Up SETX and of the prize provider, and the people in their households, can't enter. Void where prohibited.
Entry window
A giveaway opens when it appears on the calendar and closes at 11:59 PM Central time on the end date shown on its listing. Entries received after that time don't count.
How to enter
- Click Win on the event's card, enter your email address, accept these rules and press Enter.
- Entering signs you up for the free What's Up SETX newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time, and unsubscribing doesn't remove your entry.
- To enter without subscribing, email info@whatsupsetx.com before entries close, with the subject "Giveaway entry" and the name of the giveaway. This entry counts the same as one through the form.
- One entry per person per giveaway. Extra entries, entries made with several email addresses, and automated entries are all disqualified.
How the winner is picked
Within 3 days after entries close, What's Up SETX draws the winner at random from all eligible entries. The odds of winning depend on how many eligible entries come in.
How the winner is told
The winner hears from us by email at the address they entered with. They have 48 hours to reply and confirm. If they don't reply in time, or turn out not to be eligible, an alternate winner is drawn the same way.
The prize
The prize is the one described on the giveaway's listing. It has no cash value, can't be exchanged for cash, and can't be transferred unless the prize provider agrees. If the event is postponed, the prize carries over to the new date. If it is cancelled, What's Up SETX may award a prize of similar value or end the giveaway. The winner covers any taxes and their own travel.

Your email address is used to send the newsletter and to contact you if you win, as set out in our privacy policy. We don't sell it.

The fine print
By entering, you agree to these rules and to the decisions of What's Up SETX, which are final. What's Up SETX may cancel or change a giveaway if fraud, a technical failure or anything else outside its control affects it. What's Up SETX and the prize provider aren't responsible for lost, late or incomplete entries, or for any injury or loss tied to accepting or using a prize. These giveaways aren't sponsored, endorsed or run by Facebook, Instagram or any other platform. Texas law governs these rules.
