This policy covers the What's Up SETX events calendar at events.whatsupsetx.com. We keep it short and plain because there isn't much to explain — we collect very little, and we don't sell any of it.
What We Collect
Three things, and that's it:
- Your email address, if you type it into one of the newsletter signup boxes on this site. It goes straight to Beehiiv, the platform that sends the newsletter.
- Event submissions. When you submit an event, you send us the event name, date, time, venue, city, category, description, and your own email address. That information is emailed to the What's Up SETX team so a human can read it. It isn't stored in a database on this site.
- Standard server logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps routine technical logs — things like IP address, browser type, and which page was requested — the same way essentially every web server does. We use them only to keep the site running and secure.
How We Use It
Your email address is used to send you the newsletter — every Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 AM CST — and nothing else. Event submissions are used to decide whether to list your event on the calendar or feature it in the newsletter, and to reply to you if we have a question. Server logs are used for security and troubleshooting.
Who We Share It With
We use two service providers to make the site work, and they only handle what they need to:
- Beehiiv — our newsletter platform. Subscriber email addresses live there.
- Resend — the service that delivers event submissions to our inbox as email.
We never sell, rent, or trade your information. We'll only hand it over beyond the above if the law requires it.
Unsubscribing
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're out — no hoops, no "are you sure" maze. If it gives you any trouble, email info@whatsupsetx.com and we'll take care of it.
Cookies
To be perfectly clear: this site sets no tracking cookies and no analytics cookies. There is no third-party analytics tool running here, no advertising pixels, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. We don't build a profile on you.
Links to Other Sites
The calendar links out constantly — to venues, ticket sellers, organizer pages, and social posts. Once you leave this site, you're on someone else's turf and their privacy policy applies, not ours. Worth a look before you hand over any details.
Children's Privacy
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email info@whatsupsetx.com and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. Continued use of the site after an update means you're okay with it.
